About us
This Stellenbosch-based photographic company consists of four photographers. Their scope is very broad - from aerial photography to weddings, large and fast sport events, nature, studio and much more. Quality is what we proud ourselves in. The maximum input is required of each photographer to get the best possible shot, even if it means lying in the water or climbing a tree.
Hannes Oosthuizen started his photographic career in the SA Airforce in 1984 as an aerial photographer. He has since expanded his portfolio to art, studio, portfolios, sport, events and nature photography. Hannes also has many years of desktop publishing and large format printing experience.
His brother Fanus Oosthuizen who developed his photographic skills over many years as a hobby, now lives his dream as a nature, sports and events photographer.
Neil Oosthuizen, Fanus' eldest son is 16 and studies digital and art photography as a full time subject at school and has an extraordinary eye for a good shot.
Fanus' youngest son is the youngest member of the team. 10-year old Ian Oosthuizen one day picked up the Canon 400D and without any training took the most amazing shots. His natural abilities were immediately identified and as the smallest member of the team is now an in-training photographer and nick-named "oakie-pics". At this young age some of his photo's were already published.
Theuns Stofberg is our main freelance photographer. He is a lecturer in fashion photography at Elizabeth Galloway Studio (Stellenbosch).
Oakpics.com also makes use of other freelance photographers when required.
